Person portrayed struggled with anorexia. Hand represents the pressure, its spectrum of colors, says the pressure is combined from many elements. It holds the girl by the neck (the tip of the apple) as if finished eating up the girl's body, leaving only the remains..

Mirrored Madness (20" x 16")
Mirrored Madness (20" x 16")

January 2015,

Acrylic ink on Masonite board,

This piece follows a boy as he is growing up in a feverishly, individualistic society. The main road, where he walks, is composed of many colors, which demonstrates the complexity of reality, but each mirrored reflection shows only one color or one part of the full picture. Each reflection of the boy is somehow distorted, showing his consistent dissatisfaction with himself, unable to see what he actually is (a human being) through the reflection. Towards the end of the road, there the now grown man is no longer on his road, since he is sucked into the mirrors that surround him. At the end of the road, when there are no more mirrors, no more buildings, no man-made objects, only him and the sky, the man is very small like a dark shadow. He stands there alone, without shiny distractions that used to fill up his world to the point where he seemed to be flooded with people. Now all of that is gone.

The clear white line is art in my life. The chaos around is the chaos around. The little mini me's are always holding on to art.
